"The key to a successful learning journey in music is to find what motivates and inspires you. I have a wide range of skills in a variety of instruments, so can direct, facilitate and support you in the direction that best follows your desires and brings you the most joy. Learning to play an instrument, learning the language of music, playing different styles, playing songs you know and love, singing and playing an instrument, recording yourself and sharing with family, friends and the community, writing your own original music and honing in on technique and particular skills all have a place in a music learning journey."

Want to join a rock band? Playing at home for your own enjoyment? Interested in the developmental benefits of music education for your child? Whatever your motivation for starting lessons, I can help. Have no idea?? Don't worry, I have plenty......

During a lesson you might find me.....
  • Demonstrating to help you learn
  • Making sure you have a variety of tasks to keep you interested
  • Selecting resources from a collection built over many years
  • Constructing new resources quickly and efficiently within your lesson - want to learn a new song I haven't heard before? Leave the lesson with a chord chart and/or lyric sheet, plus ideas for how to approach playing it.
  • Talking to you about what YOU would like to do
  • Drawing upon years of experience as a music educator in private lessons and schools, to assist children and adults of all ages and abilities
  • Achieving quality recordings within your regular lesson times. The time in lessons does tend to disappear too quickly as we are having too much fun. But it is amazing what you can achieve with a little forward planning, organisation and time management!!

Outside of your lesson time - if you were a fly on the wall - you might see me....
  • Producing chord charts, written music, lyric sheets and other resources in preparation for your next lesson (or emailed to you if needed sooner...)
  • Finding, editing, and in some instances creating my own backing tracks for you to use
  • Editing recordings and creating animation videos to accompany your sound. To be shared on the Resource Site (with your permission).
  • Working to support YOU in many varied ways.

Whether you're aged 9 or 90, I can assist you on your learning journey.
