Lessons
Our lessons are taught in our home studio, close to the centre of Beechworth town. We enjoy the teaching space and feel it is conducive to a relaxed and fun learning environment.

Note: Age ranges for children are a guide only - the instruction given depends on the individual capability and stage of development for each child. This is observed during the first few lessons.
Piano/keyboard lessons - Children
Young children age 4-6:
Children age 6 and up are generally ready to learn to read music right away, in combination with the above elements. The aim is to give children an inspiring start to music-making that is fun, engaging and teaches key skills and techniques.
Piano/keyboard lessons - Adults
Tailoring lessons according to what YOU want to achieve. Amy can facilitate:
Choose a particular focus for your lessons or mix it up a little. It's up to you, with Amy's guidance.
Songwriting & Home Recording - Adults & Children
If you are starting out as a songwriter and would like guidance to improve your skills, Amy can help you with:

Piano/keyboard lessons - Children
Young children age 4-6:
- Becoming familiar with the piano
- Fun rhythm and pitch games using the piano, drums, percussion instruments & Boomwhackers
- Learning to play familiar songs by ear
- When ready, moving gently to reading music notation
- Consolidating knowledge using the Piano Maestro App (no iPad required at home but having one to assist with practice can be useful).

- Developing and refining your piano playing technique and music-reading skills
- Learning to play familiar songs by ear
- Learning to accompany yourself while singing
- Develop your own songwriting skills

Songwriting & Home Recording - Adults & Children
If you are starting out as a songwriter and would like guidance to improve your skills, Amy can help you with:
- Song structures eg verse, chorus, bridge
- Lyrics - eg rhyming, conveying a message, improving the overall sound and structure
- Catchy hook lines - really 'hook' your listener in
- Instrumentation - deciding what instruments to include in your song
- Recording your work - creating a polished song for your own enjoyment and/or to share with others
